No matter how crazy you got at your office holiday party this winter, one down bad Redditor is definitely crazier, alleging she was fired after making out with several colleagues and her married boss while his wife looked in.

In a new — and admittedly dubious — get ready with me, TikTok storytime influencer Chloe Cotterell got candid about the internet’s alleged ghosts of Christmas parties past … including an incident where an employee admitted to making out with a handful of her co-workers while working as an accountant, a profession we can only assume was meant in the literal sense.

“At the work Christmas party I got very out of my island, I got very drunk okay?” Cotterell said in character while clamping her eyelashes in a lash curler. “And I do some stuff I’m not … I just don’t like what I do when I’m drunk.”

One of those things includes kissing a 22-year-old coworker. “I think there’s always been that sort of tension between us,” she continued, applying a coat of mascara. “At the work Christmas party we ended up making out and it wasn’t in a private space, it was kind of directly at the dinner table.”

Though the colleague decided to call it an early night, Cotterell said several of the poster’s other colleagues took this kiss as a go ahead to shoot their shot, including one of her bosses, who served as CEO of their company alongside his wife.

“I feel like the other men kind of thought this was a go-ahead that I was about to start making out with them … and I did,” she said continuing the story. “I don’t know why.”

Unfortunately, her boss’ wife, who was in attendance at the party, was less than thrilled to see her husband kissing another woman. Even though the pair were purportedly on the rocks, nearly filing for divorce, they decided to give her the boot, setting up a Zoom call for their first day back at work after the holidays.

“I kind of knew straight away at that point that I was about to lose my job and I did,” the tale concluded.

Though Cotterell later clarified that she was simply recounting a story she had read on a thread —  “OMG guys. I do Reddit stories,” she wrote, “this isn’t my personal experience” — take it from this unknown poster and every angry person in the comments: When in doubt, don’t snog your boss.
